1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Finova application and website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
2. Service Description
Finova is a privacy-first personal budgeting application that helps users:
- Manually track income and expenses
- Create and manage budgets with spending alerts
- Set and track savings goals
- Receive AI-powered financial insights and coaching
Finova operates on an offline-first architecture — the app is fully functional without an internet connection. Cloud sync is available for paid subscribers.
3. Accounts
You may use Finova's core features without creating an account. To access cloud sync, AI features, and premium functionality, you must create an account using a valid email address or through Google or Apple sign-in.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@finovaai.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
Finova offers three subscription tiers:
- Classic (Free) — Full manual budgeting, expense tracking, goals, dashboard, and limited AI insights
- Pro — Everything in Classic plus cloud sync, more AI Coach messages, and data export
- Ultra — Everything in Pro plus unlimited AI Coach access, advanced insights, and priority support
Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscription management (renewal, cancellation, refunds) is handled by the respective store. Please review the store's terms for billing details.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Finova only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the application
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. AI Features Disclaimer
Finova includes AI-powered features such as the AI Coach and AI-generated financial insights. These features are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Finova is not a financial advisor, and AI-generated content does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suited to your specific situation.
AI features require an internet connection and degrade gracefully when offline. Availability is subject to your subscription tier and usage limits.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, software, and the underlying code — are the exclusive property of Finova and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
8. User Data & Privacy
Your use of Finova is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into Finova. We do not sell your data to third parties.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Finova shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Finova does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Termination
You may stop using Finova at any time. You can delete your local data via Settings > Clear All Data.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
